NDIA IS ONE OF A KIND. No other country can compare with it due to its innate
spirituality, either people wise or land wise. For this reason, there is a je ne sais
quoi to India that numerous visitors discover either by meeting its living saints
and yogis in one of its several holy places or having observed how so many
inhabitants keep such a relax attitude no matter what, whether they may live in
seemingly abberrant conditions from a mundane point of view.
Individually, this anxiety free attitude of Indian people can be largely explained due
to its grass roots having to do with the culture of sanatan dharma, or the science of
self-realization which has been passed down since time immemorial from master to
disciple. This science enables one to develop knowledge and detachment through
discriminating between matter and spirit. Matter is whatever is related to the material
body, sarira, which is naturally temporary. And spirit has to do with the living force,
or atma, which is permanent, in other words that which is eternal.
This culture is based on the
teachings of the Vedas. The word veda means
knowledge. The Vedas
were God given since the very beginning of
Creation. The Vedas are the very substance of
Indian culture. The culture permeates everything:
cosmogony, astronomy, time calculation, education,
architecture, sculpture, engineering, building,
medicine, clothing, jewellery, dance, music, food,
mantras, sanskrit (the oldest, most complex language in
the
world, said to be the mother of all languages), etc. India’s
wisdom is to be found in its most ancient sanskrit texts. This rich
heritage is inherited from one generation to the next since thousands of
years.
On the opposite end, the present age’s degrading influence of kaliyuga, pulls
humanity away, whether in India or elsewhere, from the path of Vedic culture.
However, people who are aware of such consequences are that much more
concerned with its inestimable value being shared with everyone.
Vedic culture is non sectarian and is not meant only for India. This culture is meant
for humanity at large. It is very essential for the upliftment of humanity. If not so,
then let it be for at least maintaining what humanity has still best namely its noble
qualities such as compassion, tolerance, self control, purity, etc. As such,
Srimad-Bhagavatam corroborates both paths of either human elevation aiming at an
ultimate goal of spiritual realization, or of human downfall getting ever worse, were
there a generalized laissez-faire on the part of mankind.
Journey to the Heart of India is a unique cultural event meant for the general public
to acquaint themselves with a very ancient culture of the world, Vedic culture.
Visitors will have the opportunity to appreciate traditional dancing and music, yoga,
philosophy, ayurvedic medicine, astrology, indian cuisine, etc.
Thanks for your kind reading and have a most pleasing journey.
